Donna Gerson is the author of several books on legal career issues, including Choosing Small, Choosing Smart, Building Career Connections and The Modern Rules of Business Etiquette. She serves as a Career Service Partner for attorneyjobs.com, the premium J.D. web site from West Publishing and offers educational webinar programs in partnership with Thomson Reuters. For ten years, she served as a contributing editor for Student Lawyer magazine (American Bar Association).
Having spent many years counseling law students and graduates, working with legal employers, and visiting law schools nationwide, Donna understands the demands facing law students and current hiring trends and practices.
Donna graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and earned her law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. After clerking for a judge in Philadelphia, Donna worked as a litigator before joining the Career Services Office at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She served as the director of the Career Services Office for seven years before becoming a full-time author and speaker on professional development issues.
Donna is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Association of Women Lawyers, and NALP, the Association of Legal Career Professionals.
Her volunteer leadership includes serving as a member of the Trustees’ Council of Penn Women, the national board of Hadassah, and as Chair of The Hadassah Foundation.
She lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
